Greasepaint
Narrative
"Greasepaint" is my debut feature film. Shot with a crew of 10 people in 15 cold, winter days in a decaying house in the middle of Tokyo.
A story of identity, affection, and the lack of it.
Pierrot is a young con artist who lives his life by stealing other people's identities. When something goes wrong he has to hide out in what would seem like an abandoned house in the middle of Tokyo. In which he happens to find a collection of cassette tapes belonging to Hiro Nakamura. A young, brilliant university student, who also happens to be Pierrot's doppelgänger. Pushed by a desire to survive and attraction to this seemingly perfect human being, Pierrot begins studying Hiro's mannerisms to become him. All seems to be going smoothly until Pierrot's sister, Soon-Bok, suddenly appears at the doorstep.
